What is gluten?

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. These grains are used to make many foods that you find at your local grocery store or market, including breads, pastas, cakes— practically everything made with flour! People with celiac disease can’t eat these foods because they contain gluten.

What’s Gluten-Free at Pizza Hut?

Gluten is a type of complex carbohydrate that is found in many grains like wheat, rye and barley (and also added to many processed foods and supplements) and gives food elasticity which we all know as “doughy.”

This description matches the pizza at Pizza Hut, which makes it one of my favorite places for gluten-free dining.

In the past, their thin ‘n crispy pizza crusts were not gluten-free. In two locations, I have been able to order gluten-free pizzas that were made in a special area with its own separate utensils and ingredients that did not touch any wheat or gluten products, but this seems to be a rare practice.

If you’re looking for a place that has a gluten-free crust option, then look for this in the description. In addition, most Pizza Hut locations have a good variety of toppings that can be added to any pizza- just ask your server about them.

Putting Pizza Hut to the Gluten Test

At Pizza Hut, they have a full gluten free menu complete with appetizers, pizza and desserts! The servers we talked to said most people order off the gluten free menu because it tastes so good.

The menu includes a full list of gluten-free pizzas, appetizers and desserts. When we asked for the gluten free menu, our server told us that they were all gluten free!

Karina tried the Ultimate Cheese Lover’s pizza with some friends from work – they thought it was delicious as well. I got to taste it as well and thought it was good. It tastes like a regular pizza! Since I’m not celiac, however, I can’t tell you if it’s “good for gluten free”.

There are many gluten free alternatives to common foods. If you have a gluten allergy, you know how difficult of a time finding these can be! I’m going to tell you what I do for each food listed below that has gluten in it. You may need to tweak these things according to your specific allergy or intolerance.

Option 1: Buy gluten free bread or rolls! There are many options that taste just like traditional bread, except they’re gluten free.

Try trying Udis Gluten Free White/Wheat Bread, Canyon Bakehouse Instant Gluten-Free Rolled Oats & Flax Bread, Glutino Plain Bagels, or Schar’s Gluten-Free Italian Rolled Oats & Flax Bread.

I personally love the Schar’s Gluten-Free Italian Rolled Oats & Flax Bread, because it tastes great and is easy to make! I toast it for 2 minutes on each side.

Option 2: Make your own gluten free bread/rolls!

I have a recipe for gluten free bread that you can easily make from home! My favorite brand of gluten free flour is Bob’s Red Mill , but I’ve heard great things about Cup4Cup as well.

Option 1: Make your own! There are plenty of recipes online to make homemade croutons.

Option 2: Buy a bag of gluten free croutons. If you’re not up for making your own, I recommend buying some from the brand Ian’s . They make great tasting and affordable gluten free croutons.

Breading or breading

I know this may sound strange, but you can buy pre-made breading! Brands like Ian’s make breading that is gluten free. This saves you from having to buy all the ingredients and making your own breading, which can get time consuming.

Option 1: Buy a package of gluten-free tortillas. Many stores have their own brand, or they sell individual tortillas for you to make your own at home.

Option 2: Make your own! There are plenty of great recipes for homemade tortillas, or you can try buying a pre-made mix and cooking it according to the directions on the box.

Pizza Hut: Dairy-Free Menu Items and Allergen Notes

When you are gluten intolerant, it can be hard to eat out at restaurants. Since you know that some foods have gluten in them, there are precautions that need to be taken before going into a restaurant.

However, once you have gone into a restaurant and called ahead or checked online for the ingredients of certain menu items, this article will help you decide what to order and how to eat out at restaurants.

Going into a restaurant, it is wise to call ahead or look online for the ingredients of the menu items you plan on ordering before going in.

The reason behind this is because gluten can be found in many things such as soy sauce and salad dressing. Even if something doesn’t taste like it would have gluten in it, double check to be safe.

When you are calling ahead or checking online, make sure the website is not outdated and still up to date with the menu they serve. If you find a restaurant that is completely gluten free, this may not be true anymore and there might be changes made. Checking the online menu for this reason is very necessary.

If you check the online menu, make sure it is not outdated and still up to date with what they serve.

Tips for following a healthy, balanced diet while avoiding gluten

Many people choose to follow a gluten-free diet for health and dietary reasons. However, this choice has become increasingly popular in recent years, with some studies claiming that it is not actually healthy for otherwise healthy people to change their diet.

In order to ensure that one’s gluten free diet remains balanced – avoiding malnutrition or an unhealthy “fad” diet, one should consider a few things:

If you choose to follow a gluten-free diet out of leading a healthy lifestyle or dietary changes, then you can feel proud that your choice is based on principles that are recognized as being healthy.

However if the reason why you have chosen to avoid gluten is because someone else in your family has an auto-immune disease, celiac disease, or gluten intolerance – then you should be sure to educate yourself about the types of foods that are available that you can eat instead.

Do not rely on following a gluten free diet for weight loss or calorie counting purposes. As with any diet under which one cuts out food groups, the gluten-free diet is only a temporary choice.

In order to lose weight, one should limit caloric intake and make sure that they burn more calories than they take in – while still allowing themselves healthy amounts of nutrients from all food groups.

Keeping your body at a very low calorie count will be harmful in the long run and can increase risk of malnutrition and muscle degradation.

If you choose to follow a gluten free diet, make sure that you get all of your necessary nutrients from other sources such as meat (which contains protein), fruits and vegetables (which contain vitamins and fibers).

It is important not to let yourself become deficient in certain vitamin or mineral groups – which can lead to anemia, skin conditions, mental health problems, joint pain, and more.

Of course – if you are not avoiding gluten for medical purposes but simply want to eat “gluten-free” so that you can be trendy/you feel it is the new diet fad – consider whether or not this is actually healthy for you. Visit a doctor or dietician if you have any unanswered questions about your new diet change.

From time to time, people ask me questions about Domino’s Pizza and whether or not their food is gluten-free. Due to the fact that Domino’s has a large menu with many different foods, I can never answer this question in general terms.

“We do not currently have a specific gluten free menu,” said Amy Kavanaugh, International Media Director at Domino’s Pizza.

However, we do have a variety of options that can be made gluten free,” said Kavanaugh. “We’re always working to improve the quality and taste of our food and we value customer feedback.”
