My heartfelt sympathy to all the family.
As a line worker, and manager I loved my early days at McCain Foods you always felt you were part of the picture. The world is a better place because of Wallace and his love of community.

Dear McCain Family: My heart is heavy with the loss of Wallace, who managed to be both a giant among men and a "down to earth" Carleton County boy, at the same time. I will always remember his hearty laugh and how his eyes lit up with any opportunity to tease. The strength of his love for his family and his pride in their accomplishments, will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him best. Please know that the entire Trafford family grieves with you.

I will never forget the chance I had to spend some time with my Uncle Wallace a few summers ago, in 2008 close to Peggy's Cove. I had never really had a long chat with him, until then. After dinner we both looked at each other and he said, "lets go outside...the sun is setting." He told me how excited he was about a new book coming out highlighting the success story of McCain Foods Ltd., and recollected many memories along the way. He asked me as well about my work and how things were going. It was just the two of us, chatting for awhile after dinner and enjoying the Maritime sunset. I felt a connection to my Uncle I had not felt before, and for that, it was a moment I won't forget. Uncle Wally and Aunt Margie - you have done so much for our family, especially my mother Judy. Thank you for everything!. Uncle Wally, we will miss you dearly and love you very much. Love Andrew, Caroline, Brendan and Megan xoxo

Wallace, I will always remember the first time we met and how our conversation was about family, not business. You remain an inspiration and I thank you for that.

Michael and Scott, You and your father created a culture that reflects the values you hold so high. It will continue to live on.

Wonderful ceremony this afternoon.

As I prepare to attend the funeral for Wallace this afternoon, I cannot only be so respectful to his contributions to the town I grew up in "Florenceville, NB" but also to my own personal business success in the Canadian Food Business. A tough ride for all, but when you are trained by the best, it certainly helps you survive. My admiration to Wallace is priceless, on how he so carefully balanced family and business to remarkable success on both fronts. I am so proud to be friends with the McCain Family, and feel so passionate in how Wallace touched our lives, in one way or another. My heart goes out to Mrs. McCain, Scott, Michael, Eleanor and Martha, and the entire McCain Family. AVM
